Organic Magic by Heart of Nature

Heart of Nature is mining a USDA organic-approved natural sulfur deposit in Central Nevada that also contains potassium and all micronutrients required for plant growth. Although the product is organic-approved, over 60 percent of customers are conventional growers, as this sulfur is in an immediately available form.

The predominant sulfur is SO4, which is why it is immediately plant available. Therefore, this sulfur will outperform any other sulfur product in the market with regards to immediate uptake, antifungal performance and pH reduction. Popular as an additive in dairy and poultry manure composts, this sulfur will sequester nitrogen, add potassium and make the phosphorus more available. Hence, odors and emissions are controlled while pathogens can't survive the pH drop.

With its new product, called Organic Magic, Heart of Nature is producing a pellet product that adds humates for added performance with uniformity that is uncanny to see. These pellets work well in spreaders and seeders.

McCrometer Connect TrendView App

The new advanced McCrometer CONNECT TrendView app conveniently connects growers and irrigators to their fields anytime, anywhere. The app gives users quick, secure access to important crop and irrigation data via smartphone or tablet to make timely decisions that increase yields, reduce labor costs, and support best practice agriculture.

The Connect TrendView app is compatible with the suite of McCrometer Connect wireless UHF radio and cellular field stations and sensors, covering a wide range of critical parameters. The app displays soil moisture (multiple levels), depth of irrigation, water use, flow rates, degree days, ET, disease risk, well depth and many other applications. The user-friendly app makes critical, on-the-fly decisions simpler than ever by enabling growers to leverage their crop data right from their pockets on their smartphones and tablets.

The app features two useful ways to view data: Trends and Instruments. Instruments display the most recent sensor data in panels resembling real sensors. Trends show data in graphs that can be customized to combine readings from multiple sensors with an adjustable date range. Trends and Instruments may be organized into groups to allow for easy access and organization. A simple tap of the screen can also immediately bring up the system’s full addVANTAGE Pro software interface for more advanced data management features.

Enersol LDG by Amcol

Amcol Bio-Ag announces a major development in dry humic and fulvic acid application to crops. Made with highly concentrated leonardite from Amcol’s own mine in Gascoyne, N.D., LDG (low-dust leonardite granule) technology captures the full humic complex in a robust and virtually dust-free granule that quickly disintegrates and disperses in soil water. Recommended in-furrow rate is 50 pounds per acre, and Enersol LDG can also be blended uniformly with dry fertilizers for even distribution in the field when broadcast, placed in-furrow or side dressed. Each application delivers a powerful dose of humic fulvic acid at 70 percent that is proven to increase saleable potato yield by over 10 percent while reducing culls by 25 percent.

Each application of Enersol LDG improves soil health by increasing organic matter content, CEC, water-holding capacity and micronutrient availability (iron, manganese, copper, zinc, calcium and sulfur).

Standen T2 Harvester and Windrower

The Standen T2 potato harvester is a success story for customers around the world. Constant development and an ever-improving specification make the 2015 T2 model more competitive than ever.

The 2015 T2 harvesters will feature an all new “RoTo” axle as standard equipment; highlights include fast in/out adjustment and fewer cross beams for a clear harvester underside. Steering and track adjustment mechanisms are now above the machine, away from soil.

A huge benefit of the latest T2 potato harvester is that new options allow it to double as a high-capacity potato windrower. RoTo axle configuration places the machine’s wheels directly in line with the tractor’s wheels when opening the crop. With a transport width of less than 10 feet, the T2 is also much easier than competitors’ machines to maneuver on the road and through gates.

The RoTo axle’s offside wheel rotates through 180 degrees, moving from its inner position for transport, field opening or windrowing, to its outer position for harvesting. RoTo axle steering, machine levelling and operating modes are all controlled from in-cab touchscreen controls.

Standen T2 customers can specify the option of Ultrasonic automatic digging share depth control. The new system senses row heights electronically; without depth wheels there is zero pressure on potato ridges. Depth control for the left and right sides is independent.

AVR Puma 3 Harvester

The Puma 3 self-propelled four-row harvester  is the latest addition to the AVR lineup. The Puma 3 delivers exceptional cleaning power (patented Varioweb), optimal weight distribution (50/50 left-right), engine power (Stage IV Volvo engine) and potato-friendliness (ring elevator with active lateral fingers to protect the precious harvest).

The Puma 3 can be equipped with the Varioweb cleaning module, a combination of a standing pintlebelt and axial rollers. A unique feature is the ability to continuously set the product flow volume that travels across the axial rollers, from 100 percent when intensive cleaning is required to fully removing the axial rollers from the product flow when hardly any cleaning is necessary. This is achieved by moving the pintlebelt forward or backward according to the user’s needs.
