Senninger Irrigation, a global leader in agricultural irrigation manufacturing, introduces IrriExpress, the latest in irrigation design software.

IrriExpress provides users with a simple and intuitive workflow for designing comprehensive irrigation projects using pivots, laterals and drip lines. The program uses Google Maps to quickly gather the topography data of a specified location and let users add pipes, pivots and other components over the highlighted area using a user-defined node and pipe database.

“IrriExpress is a lighter version of our Irri-Maker software,” says Ben van den Heever, software engineer for Senninger Irrigation. “It is a simple, intuitive and powerful program designed to give irrigation professionals who may not have a design or engineering background the ability to create their own systems.”

The program also features intelligent reporting to summarize the pressure, flow and elevations of an entire project. Once a preliminary system design is set up, IrriExpress can analyze the design, visually identify problems based on inputted upper and lower limits, optimize pipe sizes, and evaluate design alternatives.

Pivot designers can run wheel and span slope analysis or test their pivot for kinks and twisting. The software can report problems that will arise based on inputted upper and lower limits for different types of slopes and/or angles, and visually highlight these issues by simulating the pivot motion or rotation.

Solid set and drip system designers can use IrriExpress to conduct quick and comprehensive analysis of hydraulics, analyze the pressure at each valve and mainline, automatically update the pump pressure and pipe sizes as necessary, and assign shifts in the irrigation design to conserve power and cost. The program will also alert growers to any issues with the system design, such as velocity or node pressures that are too high or too low.

“IrriExpress is simple enough for beginners yet powerful enough for experts,” says Pablo Herrera, International sales director for Senninger. “It’s so easy to use; you can create irrigation projects in minutes.”
