FSMA RULES PUBLISHED IN FEDERAL REGISTER

The proposed Food Safety Modernization Act rules announced by FDA, Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing, and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption and Current Good Manufacturing Practice and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food, were published in the Federal Register Jan. 16.

FDA will accept comments on the rules until May 16. Law firm Hogan Lovells US LLP issued a memorandum providing key take-aways and highlights of major provisions from the proposed rule, available here.
