IA CALLS FOR AWARDS NOMS

FALLS CHURCH, Va.-The Irrigation Association is now accepting nominations for its annual awards program. Anyone can nominate an individual or organization for a relevant award; nominees are not required to be IA members. The awards recognize those who have significantly affected the irrigation industry, or advanced the science or adoption of efficient irrigation practices and products.

 

Nominees are accepted in five categories:

*Person of the Year - Awarded to an individual outside the commercial irrigation industry for outstanding contributions toward the acceptance of sound irrigation practices.

*Industry Achievement Award - Recognizes an individual whose career demonstrates outstanding contributions to the advancement of the irrigation industry and its products.

*Crawford Reid Memorial Award - Honors individuals who have significantly advanced both the irrigation industry and proper irrigation techniques and procedures outside of the United States.

*National Water and Energy Conservation Award - Recognizes a company, agency, or organization for significant achievement in the conservation of water and energy relating to irrigation procedures, equipment, methods and techniques.

*Partner of the Year - Honors a person or group making exceptional contributions in areas related or integral to the irrigation industry.

 

Submitters are encouraged to review nomination criteria for each award before submitting a nominee. Awards are presented at the 2011 Irrigation Show's general session in November. Nominations close March 1. For more information, visit www.irrigation.org/awards.
