NASS: FROZEN IN STORAGE DOWN 7%

The USDA NASS Cold Storage report released last week indicates there was a total of 1,106,521,000 pounds of frozen potato products in storage in the United States on February 28 2010. This is down 7 percent from last year and slightly up from the amount in storage at the end of January 2010.
The amount of frozen product breakdown in product categories: 903,546,000 pounds of french fries (down 4% compared to Feb 2009) and 202,975,000 pounds of other frozen potato products (down 18% compared to Feb 2009).
