Since three new varieties were introduced a few months ago, we decided to poll our subscribers on our newly formatted website, www.potatogrower.com, on which varieties growers are most likely to plant this year. The response was overwhelmingly in support of the Classic Russet Variety. No one who took the poll chose Alpine, and a handful selected the Clearwater Russet. It'll be interesting this year to see how much Classic is harvested-and sold.
