Here we are, having finished a slate of meetings and poised for another season of planting. As you round out the winter months and get ready for the remainder of the year, I invite you to take a look at what the magazine has in store.

This month irrigation is again at the forefront. Companies keep coming up with improvements for farming operations. Gary Rawlings, a former editor of the publication, has put together a piece on the water situation in Idaho, a take on water levels and what may lie ahead.

Another highlight of this issue is an introduction to three new varieties from the Potato Variety Management Institute. They seem pretty promising. Maybe one, two or all three will make their way into your planting plans in the future.

So whatever your specific focus at this time of year, I hope you find something helpful in this issue.
