Export oriented Indian food processing company Himalya International Ltd. says it has received a major order for its mini potato skins from one of North America's largest potato processors.

It says the three-year plan finalized by the unnamed United States partner company for the niche potato products will boost Himalya's top line by $7 million by 2010.

The product would be packed in food service packs and then marketed through food service companies such as Sysco Corp.

The order has been finalized after approval of the company's facility by AIB auditors from United Kingdom.

The company says it is finalizing expansion of its potato processing facility to fill the new order. Additional world class processing and freezing facility and housing of 400 or more workers is planned.

To obtain the additional supply of the potatoes needed the company is to add 800 acres of land to its contract farming program of specialty potatoes.
