Red Rock Chips Boosts Frito-Lay Austrailia's Growth

Frito Lay Australia - a division of Pepsico reported sales volume growth of about 7 percent driven by increased sales of its Red Rock Deli range orf gourmet potato chips. The Smith's Snackfoods business - the bulk of Frito-Lay's Australian operations - has about 60 percent of the A$1.1-billion (About US$831.2-million) salty snack market.

Smith's managing director Alex Stevens said the Red Rock Deli range of gourmet chips had been the standout performer and the company has oepned a second production line at a plant in Queensland to keep up with demand.

In an annual report to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Frito-Lay Australia holdings reported a 5.7 percent rice in reported revenue to A$597.6 million (About US$451.6 - million).
