Washington's fresh potato growers, packers and shippers are invited to attend a meeting to discuss formation of a United Washington State Fresh Potato Cooperative.

The cooperative idea to be discussed is similar to one set up in Idaho and other states.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 24, from 2-4 p.m. at the Best Western Lake Inn (formerly the Hallmark Inn) in Moses Lake.

Objective will be to stabilize potato prices and supplies in Washington and work with cooperatives in other states having similar objectives, according to the Washington State Potato Commission. Washington has already organized a steering committee.
