A grower who runs a farm near Grace City, ND, reported to the Foster County sheriff's office Wednesday that he has had 60 gallons of Reglone stolen from his farm.

A potato industry alert is being sent because the chemical can only be used by potato growers as a vine-kill product. It is unlikely it was taken by extremists.

Deputy Jerry Belile believes it is possible that whoever took the product may try to sell it. Growers in the area are being advised of the heist.

Growers are asked that if they are approached by anyone attempting to sell the chemical to get a license plate number and a description of the individual(s) involved.

They should immediately contact Deputy Belile at (701) 652-2251 or by e-mail at jbelile@state.nd.us.
