With continued wet, cold weather in the eastern Canada/northern Maine potato production areas, there is no question the 2004 crop will be late.

The production areas have received few "heat units" which help potato plant growth.

However, nice warm weather beginning July 13 will hopefully bring the crop along. Potatoes have the abililty to catch up nicely, even though delayed in their early growth stages.
