United States seed potato growers will have an opportunity to meet with foreign seed importers and attend an information exchange which will start August 2 in Washington, DC.
The United States Potato Board will sponsor the event that will run through August 6. Growers have been signed up for the limited sponsored seats available for the meeting.
U.S. growers will learn about consumer demand, Latin American climates, and growing conditions.
The importers, government officials and growers from Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Panama and Venezuela will then head to several states for a chance to learn first hand about the U.S. potato industry, to view growing operations and to better understand the seed certification processes.
