Growers needing knowledge of late blight conditions can call hotlines set up by Syngenta Crop Protection.

They will operate from May through September and will be accessible toll-free, 24-hours a day. Weekly updates will be available for optimal blight prevention, and links to updates will be available on potatoes.farmassist.com.

The phone numbers are: Oregon (800) 705-3377; Idaho (800) 791-7195; Washington (800) 984-7400; Michigan (888) 379-9012; and North Dakota (888) 482-7286.

"With the continuation of the blight hotlines, growers can detect the disease early on and make informed decisions abourt fungicide application timing, in addition to learning more about infection potential in their area and university recommendaitons for control," said David Laird, technical crop manager for Syngenta.
