Several areas in the United States are having trouble getting their crop planted because of wet weather.

Maine growers have probably been hit the hardest, with planters parked now for five straight days of showers.

Idaho higher-elevation growers were supposed to finish last week but some are still struggling to get the total crop planted, again because of inclement weather.

Idaho growers have been receiving nice scattered showers across the entire state for the last 7-10 days. This is good for those who have their crops planted.

Idaho irrigation officials have indicated that water supplies have improved slightly because of the much cooler weather, the rain, and thus the lower demand under those conditions.

Forecasts call for most of the Pacific Northwest into the Midwest to continue to receive rain over the next few days.
