There is good and bad news in the Prince Edward Island province of Canada.

The good news is that McCain Food has put together a deal to sell 7,500 tons of potatoes to the Russians. It was called a "Valentine's gift" to growers.

On the flip side, PEI growers still have 70 percent of their crop in storage. They usually have 20 percent at this time of year. Some growers are already making plans to dump potatoes for fertilizer this spring.
