Double L Manufacturing in American Falls, ID, one of the nation's largest potato equipment manufacturers, is now under new management.
Dee Jones of Pickett Equipment in Burley, ID, a large manufacturer of bean equipment, confirmed today that a new management team is in place. He will serve as president and general manager.
Jones said it is simply a management agreement with an option to purchase within a five-year period. He said that Neil Harper is the vice president. They will each be partial owners along with several silent partners when and if the deal closes.
Jones also said that the staff and sales force will remain the same, with some possible adjustments in the future.
"It's a good product," Jones said of Double L equipment. We've got a few things on the drawing boards, but nothing to disclose at this point," he added.
"We've got plenty of work to shape up the business and we're in for the challenge. We hope it works out for the future. We're optimistic it will. We're excited and so far it's been going well," Jones stated.
Pickett took over in mid-June but a public announcement has not yet been made.
