Gowan received a special local needs approval for Imidan 70-W insecticide that will increase the application rate on Washington potatoes.

The labeled use was increased to 2.5 pounds per acre. It was previously labeled at the rate of 1.33 pounds per acre to control Colorado potato beetle.

With the need for more IPM alternatives for Washington, the SLN rate has been shown to be effective against CPB and loopers as well as compatible to beneficial insects that aid late-season pest problems.

For optimum results, growers are advised to puffer the mix to a pH of 5.0-6,0. It can be applied through the air, by ground rigs or by chemigation.
