>Calvin K. Jones, with over 30 years in the beet sugar industry, has been named chief executive officer of the new Wyoming Sugar Company LLC.

Jones will be returning to his native state, having been reared on a farm at Powell, WY. He has been with Holly Sugar Company, serving in several positions, eventually as agricultural vice president. Most recently he has been vice president of commodities for Imperial Sugar, based in Sugarland, TX. He also recently held the position of vice president of product sales.

“The Board is very pleased to attract an individual with the ability and knowledge that Cal brings to us. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our business,” Richard McKamey, chairman, said.

Jones attended Northwest Community College and graduated from the University of Wyoming. He has continued his education by completing both courses of the McGinnis Sugarbeet Institute and numerous business and management courses.

Jones said he was excited with the new opportunity and working with the investors, employees and “such a progressive grower group.”

The WSC was formed to own and operate the Worland, WY, sugar factory. Assets were acquired from Imperial Sugar in June.
