With sugarbeet production now on a quota system, it is Mother Nature that has a hand in expected increased production this year.

Figures released by USDA/NASS project that production would top 27.6 million tons, up 7 percent over 2001.

While most companies reigned in their growers through the new quota program, and early weather had a hand in projections, it appears perfect growing conditions will increase production.
