.The fungicide Headline, being given a joint registration by both the United States and Canada, will not be available for this season.

Headline, with the active ingredient F 500, was scheduled for control of cercospora and powdery mildew. It was classified as a reduced-risk product.

Growers were advised to use it preventatively as part of an overall resistance-management program, and rotated with products with different modes of action.

It is believed procedural delays made the product unavailable for this season. However, the company has laid a lot of groundwork for the product, which should be ready for growers in 2003.
