Seven world-class speakers will address members of the Potato Association of America at their annual meeting and the Twenty-sixth Annual International Horticultural Congress Aug. 11-17 in Toronto.

The heart of the scientific program, according to Katrine Stewart of the Organizing Committee of IHC 2002, will be the seven colloquia. Topics to be addressed include genomics, food safety, plant-based medicines, the knowledge business, mission to Mars, improving the quality of human life, and the Art and Science of the Miniature.

Colloquium speakers include Sir Ghillean Prance, Robert Sternberg, E.O. Wilson, Paul Cox, Chris McKay, Ismail Serageldin, and many more of equal stature.

PAA members are reminded that registration for the Congress must be in by April 15, both to ensure abstracts appear in the Congress Proceedings, and to take advantage of the early registration discount.
