A Marketing Order Conference will be held at the West Coast Hotel in Pocatello, ID, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

Sponsored by the Potato Management Company in conjunction with the Potato Growers of Idaho, the event will allow discussion of using marketing orders to obtain price stability in the potato industry.

All growers, along with any interested individuals, are invited to attend and give input. The focus will be on growers controlling their own destiny by coalition building and effectively using marketing orders.

While it is an open meeting, it is crucial that representation is there from the key fall-producing states, Keith Esplin, acting director of the Potato Growers of Idaho, stated.

PMC is a cooperative of growers organized to create and promote more stability and order in markets. Recently, a committee was formed to look into the possibilities of using marketing orders to create needed stability. These findings and recommendations will be presented.

The Conference will be held during the Annual University of Idaho Potato Conference and Trade Show scheduled for Idaho State University. Those planning on attending are asked to RSVP to (208) 785-1110 or fax (208) 785-1249.
